full-bodied red wine
(non-alcoholic works, too)
1/2 - 3/4 cup
(1 - 2 dl)
sugar
(to taste)

(or 1 tsp ground cinnamon)

fresh ginger
(or 1/2 tsp ground ginger)

(or 1 tsp ground cardamom)

(or 1/2 tsp ground cloves)

INSTRUCTIONS :
Heat wine and spices just to the point of boiling. Add sugar to taste.
Remove from heat and allow to steep for 5-10 minutes, then strain (optional).
Serve in small cups with blanched almonds and raisins (optional).
