- 5 cups (12 dl) rolled oats
- 1/2 cup (1 dl) neutral oil
- 1/2 cup (1 dl) maple syrup or honey
- pinch of salt
- any spices you like (I use cinnamon)
- 1 cup (2.5 dl) nuts (optional, I use shredded coconut)
Set the oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix oats, oil, syrup and salt in a non-stick baking pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then stir and add nuts (if used). Continue to bake and stir every five minutes until nice and golden (10 - 20 minutes more). If you want clumpy granola, flatten the surface toward the end and do not stir again after that. Allow to cool completely before removing it from the pan (at least 40 minutes). Store in an air-tight container.
