1 cup(2.5 dl)shredded cheese(a good melting cheese, like Monterey Jack)
1 1/2 - 2tspsalt
pinchofblack pepper
INSTRUCTIONS :
Set the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Peel and slice the potatoes thinly with a mandolin or knife.
Mix potatoes with chopped onion, minced garlic, salt and pepper and place in an oven-safe casserole dish. If you want a more decorative looking dish, reserve half of the potato slices and arrange them neatly on top.
Add the cream and top with shredded cheese.
Bake until the potatoes feel soft, about 50 - 60 minutes. If the top browns too quickly, protect it with a piece of aluminium foil.
NOTES :
Using half-and-half reduces the calorie count to 352 kcal per serving but makes it a little less creamy.
