Sponge for Layered Cakes

INGREDIENTS :

large eggs
3/4 cup
(2 dl)
sugar
1/3 cup
(1 dl)
all-purpose flour
1/3 cup
(1 dl)
potato or corn starch

baking powder
INSTRUCTIONS :
Set the oven to 350°F (175°) and line the bottom of a 9-inch (23 cm) springform.
Beat eggs and sugar until light and creamy.
Add sifted dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
Bake until golden brown, about 35-40 minutes.
Allow to cool completely before slicing.
NOTES :
You can also freeze the sponge for later use, or to make it easier to slice.
