INGREDIENTS :

  • 2 sticks (200 g) soft butter
  • 4 cups (500 g) powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup (1 dl) cocoa powder (preferably Dutch process)
  • 2 – 4 tbsp cold, strong coffee (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract, or 2 tsp vanilla sugar

INSTRUCTIONS :

  • Beat butter until light and fluffy, then add the remaining ingredients and beat until combined.

NOTES :

This makes enough frosting for a 8 – 9 inch (20 – 23 cm) three layer cake or 12 cupcakes.
