Fruit Crumble

INGREDIENTS :

  • 1 blind baked pie crust (optional – my recipe here)
  • 3 – 4 cups (7 – 10 dl) fruit or berries
  • 1/2 cup (1 dl) sugar
  • 2 tbsp potato or corn starch (double if using frozen berries)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Topping

  • 1 1/4 stick (150 g) soft butter
  • 1 1/2 cup (3.5 dl) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (0.5 dl) sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 dl) rolled oats or nuts (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS :

  • Set the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Peal and slice the fruit as needed, then toss in sugar and starch.
  • Transfer to an oven-safe dish or blind baked pie crust (if used).
  • Rub flour, sugar and butter together, then mix in nuts/oats and spices (if used). Sprinkle on top of fruit.
  • Bake until golden and bubbly, about 30 minutes.
  • Serve with whipped cream, ice cream or custard sauce (my recipe here).

NOTES :

If you only use topping the calorie count is reduced to about 347 kcal/serving.
