Kabobs / Grillspett

  • 2 lbs (1 kg) protein (I used boneless rib eye}
  • 1 onion
  • 2 bell peppers
  • or any vegetables, fruit or mushrooms you prefer
  • salt, pepper and any spicemix, rub or marinade you like for flavor


  • Cut everything into 2 inch (5 cm) cubes and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Alternatively, mix with marinade or spice rub and refrigerate for 30 minutes to overnight (optional).
  • Thread the pieces onto skewers (If you are using wooden skewers, soak them in water first so they do not catch fire on the grill).
  • Cook kabobs evenly on all sides on a grill, in a pan or under a broiler for about 10 minutes.


The calorie count depends on the protein used. For example, if chicken breast is used there are only 200 kcal per skewer, while using rib eye increases it to 440 kcal.
