Lingonberry Slaw (Swedish Coleslaw)

  • 2 cups (5 dl) shredded cabbage
  • salt to draw out excess water
  • 1/2 cup (1 dl) lingonberry or cranberry preserves


  • Toss the cabbage with a sprinkling of salt and leave to drain in a colander or strainer for a couple of hours.
  • Rinse with cold water and drain. Pat dry with a paper towel (optional).
  • Mix with preserves and serve with anything normally served with lingonberries or cranberries.
