Teriyaki Sauce

INGREDIENTS :

  • 1/4 cup (0.5 dl) soy sauce (I prefer reduced sodium Korean or Tamari soy sauce)
  • 1/4 cup (0.5 dl) water
  • 1 tsp white vinegar (5%)
  • 5 tbsp brown sugar, white sugar, or honey (or some of each)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp potato or corn starch
  • pinch of black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil (add after cooking)

INSTRUCTIONS :

  • Whisk to combine all ingredients except the oil.
  • Simmer until thickened slightly.
  • Remove from heat and add sesame oil.
